KEEPING THE FILLINGS DRY

Of utmost importance for the stability of fillings and the success of root canal treatments, is keeping them dry. No saliva should be allowed to reach the tooth during treatment. At the same time, our little treatments don't particularly appreciate it when a lot of water or a strange taste from our treatment substances gets into the throat. This often leads to treatment being cancelled, even though the actual drilling has long since been completed. For this reason, paediatric dentistry has been using the so-called ‘umbrella’ (rubber dam) for a long time.
